FishBuddyPro™ is designed primarily as a personal fishing-record and fishing-information application.

The application allows anglers to record catches, Fishing Trips, photographs, measurements, notes, locations, Catch Conditions, Challenges and other fishing information.

Most information entered into FishBuddyPro™ is intended to remain stored locally on the user’s own Android device unless the user deliberately chooses an action that sends or shares information elsewhere.

FishBuddyPro™ does not sell personal information.

FishBuddyPro™ does not use personal fishing records for targeted advertising.

Depending on the features used, the application may store fish species, catch dates and times, catch weight and length, bait, lure and method information, fishing notes, Fishing Trips, venues, locations, GPS coordinates deliberately saved by the user, photographs, Voice Notes and recognised text, Catch Conditions, Challenge details, statistics, profile information, app settings and user-created backup or export files.

This information is used to provide the features requested by the user, including catch logging, reports, statistics, trip records, Challenges, galleries and personalisation.

FishBuddyPro™ is designed primarily to store fishing records and app preferences locally on the user’s device. Information stored only on the device is controlled by the device owner and we cannot ordinarily view, retrieve or delete information that has never left the device. Users can manage local information through in-app editing, deletion, backup, restore and data-management functions. Users should create a suitable backup before uninstalling the application, clearing app storage or changing devices.

FishBuddyPro™ can request device location when the user chooses a feature that requires it. Location may be used to save a catch position or venue, position a map, associate a catch with weather or environmental information, or include location in reports or exports requested by the user. Location remains private unless deliberately exported or shared. Users can deny or withdraw permission through Android settings.

Catch Conditions may include air temperature, weather description, wind, pressure, rainfall, cloud cover, sunrise and sunset, daylight, moon phase, water temperature and tide information where available. When online Catch Conditions are enabled, limited information such as catch latitude and longitude, date, time and the type of information requested may be sent to an online weather or environmental provider. FishBuddyPro™ does not require a personal weather-service API key.

FishBuddyPro™ may request camera or photo-library access when the user chooses to take or select a catch photograph, add a profile photograph, add a custom species, replace a species image or attach an image to a supported record. Photographs are used for the selected feature and are not deliberately made public. A photograph leaves the application only through a deliberate export, backup, synchronisation or sharing action.

FishBuddyPro™ may request microphone access when the user deliberately chooses Voice Notes or an Ask My Stats voice question. Voice input may be processed using Android or the configured speech-recognition service under that provider’s privacy terms. FishBuddyPro™ uses recognised text to provide the requested feature. Users can use typed input where available or deny microphone access.

Fishing Research and external-link features may open a website, search provider, map, sharing destination or other service selected by the user. That service may receive information normally associated with a web or app request, such as search words, Internet Protocol address, browser or device information and information deliberately submitted. External services operate under their own privacy policies.

FishBuddyPro™ allows users to deliberately share, export or back up supported information, including selected catch details, photographs, optional locations, CSV exports, Fishing Trip reports or PDFs, FishBuddyPro™ backups and Challenge information. Users should review selected information before sharing. Once sent to a chosen destination, subsequent handling is controlled by that recipient or service.

Where Challenge synchronisation or sharing is used, information required for the Challenge may be transferred to another participant or device at the user’s request, including Challenge title and rules, target species, scoring, participant details, qualifying catches, scores or rankings. Users should share Challenge information only with people they trust.

The FishBuddyPro™ website and its hosting infrastructure may process technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as Internet Protocol address, browser and device type, requested page, date and time of access, and basic security information. If a visitor contacts FishBuddyPro™, we receive the information deliberately provided, such as name, email, message, support information, screenshots or attachments.

The FishBuddyPro™ website does not intentionally use advertising cookies. Essential technical storage may be used where necessary to deliver, secure and operate the website. Before publication, the website must be checked for Framer Analytics, embedded services, advertising pixels and tracking technology. If optional analytics are enabled, this section must identify the service, purposes, processing and any required consent mechanism.

Depending on the feature, lawful bases may include consent, performance of a contract, legitimate interests in operating and securing FishBuddyPro™ and responding to enquiries, and legal obligation. Consent can be withdrawn by disabling a feature, changing Android permissions or contacting us where applicable.

We do not sell personal information. Information may be processed by limited categories of recipients where necessary, including website hosting and platform providers, Android services, speech-recognition providers, weather or environmental providers, map or research services opened by the user, storage or sharing destinations selected by the user, professional advisers or public authorities where legally required.

Some platform, hosting, operating-system, speech, weather, map or external providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where we select a provider, we take reasonable steps to use providers offering appropriate privacy and security protections. Local fishing records remain on the device until edited or deleted, app storage is cleared, the app is removed or different data is restored. Exported files and backups remain in the destination selected by the user until deleted. Support correspondence and technical website information are retained only as reasonably necessary for support, security, records and legal obligations.

Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information under our control. Users are responsible for protecting their Android device, credentials, exports, backups, shared information and third-party storage accounts. No electronic storage or transmission method is completely secure.

FishBuddyPro™ does not currently require a central account unless the application has since changed. Users can delete locally stored information using in-app controls, Android settings or by uninstalling the application, subject to backups and exported files. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, individuals may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, transfer of eligible information and withdrawal of consent.
